Determining the Appropriate Age for Piercing

The decision of when to pierce is completely up to each parent or guardian. Cultural, personal, and social beliefs are all respected, and we pierce babies starting at 3 months and up. Our team is here to provide guidance and make the process as smooth as possible for families at any stage.

What the Piercing Feels Like

We describe the sensation as a quick pinch followed by warmth—fast and easy for little ears.

Optional Numbing Cream

For added comfort, numbing cream is available over the counter at pharmacies or from your family doctor.

For best results:

Apply a thick layer to the front and back of the lobe, cover with Saran Wrap, and reapply if it comes off.
Apply 30–60 minutes before the appointment so the cream has time to take effect.
We do recommend the cream over the sticker (as it can often pull hair when being removed).

PReparing Your Child

Talk with your child about what to expect and remind them you’ll be right there the whole time.
Explain that the piercing is quick and encourage them to follow their piercer's guidance. Knowing that it’s simply a quick pinch followed by warmth can make a world of difference.

Aftercare Instructions

Healthy healing starts with consistent care:

Clean the piercing twice a day with a mild sterile saline solution for the first three weeks, then once a day for the next three weeks. (Available in studio).
Keep the area clean and dry for the entire healing period.
Keep wet hair off the piercing during healing to prevent irritation.
Avoid swimming pools and natural bodies of water until fully healed.
Do not change the jewelry for at least six weeks to allow the tissue to stabilize.
